Summer Craft Camp - Session 2 Half Day

$350.00

Session 2: The Modern Maker & Global Explorer (June 29 – July 23)

Join us for a second session where we dive into the intersection of art, science, and culture! Session 2 is all about using unique materials—from recycled "trash" and chemical reactions to traditional global techniques—to create functional and beautiful art.

Weekly Themes & Highlights:

  • Week 1 (June 29 - July 2): The Eco-Artist – We’ll transform everyday items into "Scrap Sculptures," weave with found nature items, and build functional Solar Ovens to cook s'mores! Plus, a special plant lesson where campers decorate pots and start their own gardens.

  • Week 2 (July 6 - 9): The Curious Chemist – Messy art meets science! Highlights include "fizzing" watercolor eruption prints, a deep dive into the Oobleck & Slime Lab, and "Tie-Dye with a Twist" focusing on the chemistry of color.

  • Week 3 (July 13 - 16): Global Gallery – A trip around the world! Campers will explore Japanese Manga character design, vibrant Mexican Folk Art "spirit animals," shimmering Haitian Sequin Art, and traditional Aboriginal Dot Painting.

  • Week 4 (July 20 - 23): The Modern Maker – Our final week focuses on engineering and community. We’ll build custom 3D board games from scratch, master no-sew textile design, and work together on a massive Community Mural using upcycled materials. We wrap up the summer with Family Day to showcase everything we've built!
