The Eco-Artist — Sustainable Studio & Botanical Art!
Turn "waste" into worth! In The Eco-Artist week, campers will learn to see the artistic potential in the world around them. We’re combining chemistry, recycling, and fine art to create stunning pieces that celebrate sustainability and the natural beauty of Sioux Falls.
Weekly Highlights:
Botanical Paper Pulp Sculptures: Campers will master the "Master Maker" technique of turning recycled egg cartons and junk mail into high-end "paper clay." They’ll mold this pulp into textured bowls and 3D forms, embedding dried flowers and seeds for an earthy, boutique finish.
Eco-Printing with Iron & Tannins: A lesson in organic chemistry! Using rusty objects, vinegar, and natural leaves, campers will create "ghost prints" on fabric—a sophisticated way to dye textiles using only earth-friendly elements.
Found-Object "Scrap Sculptures": Inspired by modern abstract artists, campers will use upcycled wood, metal, and plastic to engineer large-scale sculptures that challenge the way we look at "trash."
The Living Art Project: Every camper will decorate their own ceramic planter and learn the science of seed starting, taking home their own miniature garden to tend to all summer.

Nature & Enchantment — Fine Art from the Earth!
Step into a week where the natural world becomes our primary medium! In Nature & Enchantment, campers will explore the intersection of botany and design. We move beyond simple "nature crafts" to teach professional techniques like textile dyeing, intricate embroidery, and miniature landscaping.
Weekly Highlights:
Mastering Hapa Zome: Campers will learn the ancient Japanese art of "hammered botanical printing." We’ll use the natural pigments from local flowers and leaves to create stunning, permanent textile art on cotton and linen.
Miniature Enchanted Terrariums: We’ll build self-sustaining miniature worlds! Campers will learn about drainage, soil layers, and moss varieties to create high-end glass terrariums complete with hand-sculpted details.
Organic Loom Weaving: Using foraged branches and natural fibers, campers will construct their own looms to create earthy, textured wall hangings that incorporate elements found right outside our studio.
Modern Embroidery on Burlap: A tactile introduction to fiber arts! We’ll use bold yarns and metallic threads to "draw" nature-inspired patterns onto rustic burlap.

The Curious Chemist — Where Art Meets Science!
Get ready for our messiest and most magical week of the summer! The Curious Chemist is designed for kids who love to experiment, react, and create. We move beyond the canvas to explore how chemical reactions can create stunning visual art.
Weekly Highlights:
Fizzing Watercolor Eruptions: We’ll use the classic reaction between acids and bases to create textured, "exploding" masterpieces on heavy-duty cardstock.
The Slime & Oobleck Lab: A deep dive into non-Newtonian fluids! Campers will engineer their own custom "Galaxy Slime" and "Glow-in-the-Dark Oobleck" while learning the science of polymers.
Tie-Dye Chemistry: We’re taking tie-dye to the next level. Campers will learn about fiber-reactive dyes and how pH levels change the way colors bond to fabric.
Crystal Suncatchers: We will grow our own salt and sugar crystals on copper wire frames to create shimmering window art.

Get ready for a blast from the past! This week is all about bold colors, iconic 90s trends, and the high-energy world of Pop Art. We’re taking retro inspiration and giving it a modern, "Master Maker" twist, allowing campers to create pieces that are as fun to make as they are to display.

Beanie Baby Taxidermy: A Wild Peach favorite! Campers will use upcycled plush friends and ornate frames to create whimsical, 3D "taxidermy" art pieces that add a pop of personality to any room.
Warhol-Style Self-Portraits: Using bold acrylics and printmaking techniques, campers will learn about color repetition and contrast as they turn their own faces into vibrant, Andy Warhol-inspired masterpieces.

Travel the world without leaving the studio! In Global Gallery week, campers become international explorers, discovering the rich artistic traditions of different cultures. From the intricate lines of modern Manga to ancient folk art techniques, this week is a vibrant celebration of global creativity.
Weekly Highlights:
Japanese Kinusaiga Art: Discover the "no-sew" art of Japanese fabric collage! Campers will create stunning, textured masterpieces by tucking beautiful fabric scraps into foam boards to create intricate patterns and pictures.
Mexican Folk Art (Alebrijes): Inspired by Oaxacan traditions, we’ll sculpt and paint vibrant "spirit animals" bursting with patterns and neon colors.

Calling all builders, designers, and creators! Master Makers week is dedicated to the thrill of construction. We’re moving beyond the sketchbook to work with wood, clay, and structural paper-mache to create "legacy projects" that are designed to last.
Weekly Highlights:
Decoupage Wooden Keepsake Boxes: Campers will learn the art of decoupage, using specialized adhesives and curated papers to transform solid wood boxes into professional-grade heirlooms.
Hand-Painted Architectural Birdhouses: We’re taking birdhouses to the next level! Campers will use weather-resistant pigments and design principles to create functional outdoor art for their backyard feathered friends.
Sculptural Paper-Mache Lab: A lesson in scale and structure! Using wire armatures and traditional paste methods, campers will engineer large-scale 3D sculptures that make a massive visual impact.

The Modern Maker — The Grand Finale!
We’re closing out our summer by turning our studio into a full-blown "Makerspace." This week is all about engineering, community, and the thrill of building something from scratch. Campers will transition from artists to engineers as they tackle complex construction and design challenges.
Weekly Highlights:
3D Board Game Design: Campers will engineer their own tabletop games from the ground up—sculpting custom pieces, designing the game mechanics, and building a 3D game board.
No-Sew Textile Engineering: We’ll explore the world of functional fabrics! Campers will master techniques to create wearable tech pouches, headbands, or personalized pillows.
The "Giant" Community Mural: Using upcycled materials and mixed media, our campers will work together to create a massive collaborative mural that celebrates our community.
Family Day Finale: To wrap up the summer, we invite you to join us for Family Day! Campers will showcase their final inventions and the community mural in our biggest gallery show of the year.
